Blaming A Brahmin Is More Important Than Punishing A Molester!

A few days ago, one tweet from Dr. Meena Kandasamy left a hole in the society. When she mentioned about not filing a complaint against her non-brahmin molester just because a ‘Brahmin’ was in authority.

“Living with the humiliation of being molestation seemed better than being called a Brahmin-stooge”, Dr. Meena Kandasamy.

The perception that education would give you a better understanding of the world seems to be a quip these days. Why you may ask? Twitter is a fascinating site to be on, one never knows what they may find. A few days ago, one tweet from Dr. Meena Kandasamy left a hole in the society. When she mentioned about not filing a complaint against her non-brahmin molester just because a ‘Brahmin’ was in authority.

Just by reading it, as a woman I was shunned

Dr. Meena Kandasamy, a poet by profession but an ‘Intellectual’ by choice took to Twitter on 4th September 2022, where she talked about being molested. During her visit to the liberal fortress, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), in 2010, apparently Meena was molested by a non-brahmin faculty member. She chose not to press any charges against the molester, as the Head of Center was a ‘Brahmin’, who would allegedly use her against the meek non-brahmin intellectual.

Assumption and Accusation

Intellectual Meena Ji made a heinous assumption and accusation in just a breath. Engraved with brahminical hatred the story apparently freed a molester with the assumption of innocence. Free pass to anyone else who isn’t a brahmin, well at least in the ‘Intellectual’ world. While she accused the man, the one who could get her justice, just on the basis of his caste.

Brahmins are pure evil!

“Living with the humiliation of being molestation seemed better than being called a Brahmin-stooge”, Dr. Meena Kandasamy.

Who would call her a brahmin stooge? When a woman is molested or even flashed, the image doesn’t stop harassing her. Nightmares are even worse, been there. But what is unimaginable that a woman would not press charges against her molester even when there were witnesses (according to her), what is the real story behind it?

GSCASH- TRUTH AND BEYOND!

Gender Sensitisation Committee Against Sexual Harassment (GSCASH) was a strong committee within JNU that would take strong action against sexual harassment cases. As the JNU lobbyists cry about the misuse of UAPA, similar is the case with some GSCASH. Made to empower and deliver justice to victims, many times the committee was accused of misusing its powers.

Have you heard the name of Arshad Alam? Well may not. He was teaching at the same JNU, when a researcher (that too of foreign origin) pressed charges of Sexual Harassment and sodomy against him. Result? Nothing, just a simple transfer. He was the same predator who was forced on leave in Jamia Millia Islamia and the saddest and amazing part is that in this digital arena, you won’t even have a whiff of his case.

The list is endless, Pawan Patel, Anmol Ratan, and Kumar Sundaram are few other names who were charged with the same case, but after some time either the complainant took the case back or an FIR was never registered.

Miraculous? Isn’t it? Hallelujah…

However the question here is that, Why didn’t Meena approach the GSCASH? The answer to all the earlier questions are not so simple. The reason Meena didn’t approach the GSCASH or any authority stated by her is that she didn’t want a ‘Brahmin’ take a probe against the non-brahmin intellectual. In any case, the caste of molester shouldn’t matter. In her own words, if she had pressed charges, she would be a ‘Brahminical Stooge’. Casteist, is a slur used for someone who is biased against a particular caste. But this is hatred. Just like burning Manusmritis is for intellectuals.

Has anyone even seen Manusmriti? Does anyone have an iota of idea about what Manusmriti is? I’m sure they don’t even know how many Smritis are there.

Free Pass To Non-Brahmins

Gaslighting is a psychological term where a person questions there own reality. The term gained momentum in the Johnny Depp Vs Amber Heard trial. A similar pattern can be found within the intellectuals. Gaslighting students or their followers into questioning whether every brahmin deserves hatred is one of the common traits.

Once you start hating the brahmins, the other side is automatically the victim. Even though, in her own story, she was molested by the person she allegedly saved from a ‘Brahmin’ superior. Classic Stockholm Syndrome!

Message Of The Poet

One of the most disturbing things about the tweet was the message it conveyed to the sexual harassment victims. Irrespective of the gender, it conveys a message that you shouldn’t raise voice against someone who molested you, if it doesn’t fit your ideology! It also makes you question the authority, pushing you to a extend that if something happens don’t trust a ‘Brahminical’ authority. Intellectually gaslighting the victim.

Not A Mouthpiece

The timing of this tweet seems a little odd. When victims across the world were coming forward during the #MeToo era, why didn’t Meena speak then? It’s been 12 years since the incident happened, and two of her books are being published.

In the tweet, Meena stated that ‘No one has been yet born whose mouthpiece I will become.’ Accompanying 50-year-old ‘Youth’ leader, Rahul Gandhi in his Bharat Jodo Yatra, Meena is busying boasting about his people’s skills. Has the meaning of being a mouthpiece changed?

Keeping everything aside, it’s unfortunate and sad that Dr. Meena Kandasamy had go through what she did. But the level to stoop where you have to use your own trauma to gaslight and peddle ‘Brahminical Hatred.’

Perhaps this is what being an ‘Intellectual’ looks like!
