Days after the news of brutal gang-rape of a 40-year-old-woman, in Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh, a new twist has come to light. The Ghaziabad police on Friday dismissed the accusations by the woman terming it to be fake and linked to a propriety dispute between the two sides.
The news of gang-rape of the woman by 5 men had gone viral on social media.
Fake Gang-Rape Case?
According to the Ghaziabad police, three people who assisted the woman in her plot have been detained. She could also soon face the consequences of her actions.
Meerut range IG Praveen Kumar said in a media briefing, “The woman colluded with a man named Azad to cook up a false story to implicate the accused in an ongoing property dispute”.
He further said that the woman’s main accomplice, Azad and his two men – Gaurav and Afzal have already been arrested by the Police. “Police have also seized a car used in the conspiracy”, he added further.
Woman Refused Medical Examination
According to the police, woman was taken to a government hospital in Ghaziabad where she denied to undergo a medical examination.
The police officer further stated, “She did not undergo a medical examination at Meerut hospital. Upon her insistence, she was admitted to a hospital in Delhi, where her medical examination was done”.
When investigating, police discovered that the phone of Azad — who was known to the woman — was switched off, raising suspicion.
When questioned by police, Azad revealed that the woman and accused were locked in a property feud. He further stated that the woman had hatched conspiracy to charge a fake rape case on her rival.
The news of gang-rape had grabbed headlines in the mainstream media and hogged the spotlight on social media platforms.
