PML-N MPA Sardar Khan in the Swat region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan has received threat calls from the Taliban. The MPA was asked to pay extortion money and was warned of severe consequences if he failed to do so.

A case has been registered on the complaint of MPA’s son Asif Sardar. Terror activities in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan have intensified in recent times. This comes amid the backdrop of the peace talks between the Pak Army and TTP (Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan).

In another incident in Swat, Seven employees of a cellular company were abducted by unidentified men in Pakistan. Employees have been abducted from Tehsil Matta, Swat. A ransom of Rs 10 crore has been demanded for the release of the employees.

In  Barra Bandai (Swat village), an ex-chairman of the peace Committee(formed to fight militancy after the Taliban took control of tribal areas of Pakistan), Idrees Khan was killed along with 4 others in a bomb attack on his car.

Within 24 hours, another incident of terrorism took place, when another leader of the peace committee Mohammad Sherin was killed in a targeted killing in the area of Korak Swat.

In the last three months, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reported 193 incidents of terrorism .The Awami National Party( ANP)spokesperson Sardar Babak Hussain criticized the government for failing to curb the rise in terror activities in the region

According to ANP leadership, the main cause of the rise in terrorism in recent years was because of the dubious negotiations that the state institutions(Pak Army) and the government is conducting with the Taliban, that in a covert manner.

“We had opposed such talks all the time. We blame the terrorists and the responsible people of the state institutions and governments for the recent incidents of attacks by the Taliban,” said the ANP

Thousands of people protested against state terrorism, extortion, kidnapping for ransom, and targeted killing in Swat. Pashtuns have always been demanding for peace in their homeland. The local people organized huge protests in  Swat, Shangla, and  Kurma agency of KP against proxy war and unrest

The government has earlier claimed that the Taliban during a negotiation has accepted their demand that there will be no further attacks in the future. The people are now asking the government about their failed claims regarding the Taliban.

The Pashtuns have faced atrocities, terrorism, and serious human rights violations for the past several decades. The Pakistani media has always been silent on cases of human right violation of Pashtuns. These incidents received less or no coverage from the Punjabi media.

Pashtuns are then forced to raise their voice on social media platforms like Twitter so as to protest against the atrocities committed against them by the Pakistan State.

The Pashtuns have always claimed that it is the Pakistan deep state backed the terror groups who have attacked Pashtuns in their homeland for the past 40 years.
