The government’s job recruitment drive, the ‘Rozgar Mela,’ will begin online on Saturday (22nd Oct). It comes as an initiative by the Prime Minister to employ job seekers. The drive aims to recruit as many as 10 lakh people and will provide on-the-spot appointment letters to 75,000. These 75,000 people will be the first batch to get jobs as part of this recruitment drive.
The PM will launch this drive-through online video conference at 11 AM. It is the most significant step by the Prime Minister that the government is conducting an open job placement fair.
Through this placement drive, the government aims to provide jobs to lakhs of people within the next 1.5 years. In June 2022, the Prime Minister announced filling the government office vacancies. Rozgar Mela fulfills the promise made by the Prime Minister.
Thirty-eight departments will be recruiting these unemployed.
The agencies open for recruitment are UPSC, SSC, and Railway Recruitment Board. Central armed forces, sub-inspectors, constables, lower division clerks, income tax inspectors, multi-tasking staff, and many others.
The covid 19 pandemic led to significant unemployment, with many losing their jobs due to frequent lockdowns. The recovery of the economy, post covid has been a matter on which the government seems to be focusing.
