With the vision to transform India into a strong and self-reliant nation, the 12th edition of the Defence Expo commenced in Gandhinagar, Gujarat on the 18th of October 2022. It is a format which promises to engage the public and inspire them to join the Aerospace and Defence manufacturing sector for ‘Aatmanirbharta’ in Defence.
The theme of DefExpo 2022 is ‘Path to Pride’ and in semblance with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision to transform India into a strong and self-reliant nation by supporting, showcasing and forging partnerships for the Indian Aerospace and Defence manufacturing sectors with Indian as well as global customers.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also addressed the seminar today(19th October 2022) as he is on a two-day visit to Gujarat
The aim of the Defence Expo is to showcase the might of the domestic defence industry which is now powering the ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ resolve of the Government and the nation at large.
The press release from the Ministry of Defence points out that DefExpo 2022 will mark the celebration of one year of the formation of the seven new defence companies, carved out of the erstwhile Ordnance Factories. All these companies will be participating for the first time at DefExpo.
The India-Africa Defence Dialogue (IADD) was held on the sidelines of DefExpo 2022. The Gandhinagar Declaration, adopted as the outcome document of the second edition of the IADD, charted out new areas for enhancing the India-Africa defence and security partnership.
The seminar will provide a platform for Intensive interactions and ideation with eminent panellists from Government, Industry, Industry associations, States, Academia, Think-tanks etc., and will also provide important learnings/takeaways/action points for further growth of this sector.
